Other Programs

Our Program

Responds to pain by numbing, interrupting, or silencing it
Responds to pain by rehabilitating the body and the central nervous system
Believes the body heals with an external intervention (pharmaceuticals, surgery)
A full body holistic approach - believes the body heals itself from within when given the right support.
Focuses on treating symptoms rather than the root cause
Treating the root cause, rather than the symptoms
Isolated, cold clinical medical environment where patients feel alone and are told they have no hope
A caring, interactive, fun community environment.
Staff lacking passion, high turnover rate
A compassionate, highly skilled and caring team of therapists and staff.
Views the body as a machine where one part is not connected to another part
Views the body as a masterful, intelligent system where every part affects every other part

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

How long is the treatment program?

The average amount of time a patient spends in our program is 14 weeks. While most people complete the program in a 14 week average
completion time, some patients do finish sooner, and more severe cases can take longer.

What does treatment look like?

The Spero Clinic uses a unique holistic approach that consists of restoring balance to the Central Nervous System. Our treatment must be completed consecutively to maintain your healing momentum. While most people measure healing as being pain-free, we augment healing to include strength and endurance to allow you to return to a full, active life.

Is Our Program Individualized?

Yes! Although we mainly offer the same systems and treatments for all our patients, the frequency and quantity of your treatments will be adjusted individually to you, especially once we have analyzed your diagnostic testing and know how quickly your body is responding to care, and what it responds best to. In addition, your program may require added treatments that we typically don’t routinely use for all patients.

The majority of our patients report major pain relief

If you are experiencing chronic nerve pain and are at the point of giving up please believe us when we say there is hope. At The Spero Clinic you will find a community of people going through the same pain. We’re here to support you and encourage healing. When a patient completes their treatment they ring the bell to let the world know they’ve met their goal. Your life is still worth living.

Short COVID vs Long COVID

Acute COVID / Short COVID

  • Those infected with SARS-CoV-2 virus commonly develop symptoms 4–5 days after exposure. Recovery from mild SARS-CoV-2 infection commonly occurs within 7–10 days after the onset of symptoms in mild disease; it could take 3–6 weeks in severe/critical illness.

Long Covid

Also known as Post-COVID Conditions, Long-haul COVID, and Post-acute COVID-19, Long-term effects of COVID, and Chronic COVID.

  • Long COVID is essentially an umbrella term which has been adopted across the world as a reference to the symptoms and clinical signs that remain unresolved after 12 weeks or longer post-COVID.

As of 2023, about 65 million people worldwide suffer/suffered from Long COVID.

There are more than 200 symptoms associated with Long COVID, including severe nerve pain, pseudo seizures, debilitating fatigue, brain fog, depression, and memory loss.

Long COVID is increasingly looking like a neurologic disease, and therefore, when attempting to heal it, you must heal the central nervous system first. This is why our Neurologic Rehabilitation program is proving successful for many patients who suffer from stubborn Long COVID.

Common Symptoms & Conditions
Shared by Long Covid Patients

Chronic Pain

Severe full-body nerve pain.

Brain fog or difficulty thinking

Some individuals with Long Covid may experience cognitive difficulties, including brain fog and memory issues, as a result of chronic pain and the impact of the condition on overall well-being.

Fatigue

Tiredness or Fatigue that can interfere with everyday life can be linked to chronic pain conditions, including Long Covid.

Post-External Malaise

Symptoms that get worse after physical or mental efforts.

Fast-beating or pounding heart

We often see patients who feel like their heart is pounding or fluttering and/or experience heart rate spikes with simple movement. These symptoms often point to autonomic nervous system dysfunction, not necessarily a primary heart condition.

Decreased immune system/function

Chronic pain and stress associated with Long Covid may potentially impact immune function, but this is not a universally recognized symptom of Long Covid.

Seizures

Seizures (as well as pseudo-seizures)

Troubled breathing

Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS)

EDS is a separate condition that can coexist with Long Covid. EDS is a connective tissue disorder that can increase the risk of developing Long Covid.

Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)

After a child experiences Long COVID, it’s possible for secondary conditions to develop—these are new health issues that arise as a result of the stress or damage caused by the original illness.

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS)

POTS can be associated with autonomic nervous system dysfunction seen in some Long Covid cases. POTS is a separate condition that can coexist with Long Covid.

Amplified MusculoskeletalPain Syndrome (AMPS)

AMPS is a separate condition that can coexist with Long Covid.
